Gene Kelly [Gene Kelly]
(1912–96) a US film actor, dancer and singer. He became a star in the ↑Broadway musical show Pal Joey (1940). His film successes included On the Town (1949), An American in Paris (1951) and ↑Singin' in the Rain. Kelly later directed films, including Hello, Dolly! (1969). He received a special ↑Oscar in 1951.
